Support

Questions, problems or ideas: write to support@fortparty.app. If it’s about a party, include its code. Most answers are below.

Getting started

Start a party

Open a show on a supported site, click the Fort icon in Chrome’s toolbar, and choose Start a party. Share the invite link or the six-character code with your friends. Your first party as a host is free.

Join a party

Open the invite link and choose Join, and Fort takes you to the show your host is on. Or open the show yourself, click the Fort icon, choose “Have a code? Join a party” and enter the code. You need Fort installed and your own account on the streaming service. You don’t need a Fort account to join.

Where it works

Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar, YouTube, Disney+, Crunchyroll, Hulu, Max and Twitch, in Chrome on a computer.

Fixing common problems

Fort asks you to refresh the tab

A tab that was already open when you installed or updated Fort needs one refresh. Reload the page, then click the Fort icon again.

Playback isn’t staying together

Check that everyone has the same title open. Some services don’t let extensions control their player. There, Fort keeps the chat and reactions working and shows where the party is, so you can line up yourself.

The chat panel

Chat opens in Chrome’s side panel next to the video. Drag its edge to make it wider or narrower. Prefer the full picture? Use the float button in the panel’s header, or close the panel, and the chat floats over the video instead. Click the panel button on the floating chat to bring the side panel back.

Plans and billing

Joining a party is always free. To keep hosting after your free party, pick a plan at fortparty.app/billing. You can cancel Fort Monthly there at any time and keep access until the end of the month you paid for. For refunds or anything else about a payment, email support@fortparty.app.

Privacy

What Fort handles, and what it never touches, is in the privacy policy.

Still stuck? Email support@fortparty.app with what you see on screen, and the party code if you have one.
